Mission Statement
It is the primary mission of Reuz Recycling Solutions to provide a venue for people to meet with others in a retail & service atmosphere while at the same time encouraging sustainability and reducing the amount entering the landfill. All these activities foster a sense of community and enhance quality of life. Although we are a for profit organization we focus on including all people with partial proceeds going towards marginalized people and any efforts to include them in our community. It is our goal to recycle textiles here in North America and finding reuse opportunities for our local citizens rather than sending textiles overseas.
Reuz Recycling was founded by Sarita Stenerson, who ran a successful Estate Sale business and was a Personal Property Appraiser for over 20 years. She has vast experience with "rehoming" items people no longer want. She is an avid believer in the stewardship of "stuff" and the material history of "things". She began organizing the first REUZ Market in 2018 which was a Swap Meet with a Reuse focus. Due to the Pandemic, she no longer organizes REUZ Market and has focused her energies in other areas of Sustainability and Community Service. She opened a retail location and donation center called the REUZ ROOM in New Westminster for almost 2 years until the lease ran out and will be opening another REUZ ROOM location in the future. Stay Tuned...!
